Fiber Artists of San Antonio hosted the reception for their Annual Exhibition of member’s work at The Gallery Nord, on October 13th. The exhibit ran through November 5th, 2010. This was a juried exhibition of members' art. Works included fiber techniques from wearables to wall art. The juror this year was a nationally recognized fiber artist, Maggie Weiss, from Evanston, IL.

The Warrior Award is representative of an archetype. The Warrior Artist archetype forges ahead into new territory often bringing with it fear that our imagination will fail us. This new territory can, however, bring freedom to play which allows our intuition to dance.


Surface Design Association of Excellence - Caryl Gaubatz

   "The Bridge"
The award recognizes outstanding exhibited works that incorporate surface design. Surface design is the coloring, patterning, structuring and transformation of fabric, fiber and other materials. The award seeks to encourage exploration, innovation and cultivation of diverse perspectives.
