The FASA web site provides information about fiber arts; the community of fiber artists; activities, such as great programs and workshops; information on calls for entry from around the country, including deadline dates; and annual events, such as the Annual Exhibition in the Fall and the Runway Show in the Spring. You will see excellent fiber art work, photos changing often to reflect the latest activity or event, or just to show beautiful, professional art. There are members-only pages to share information among the members, to exchange resources, and to celebrate awards and successes. If you like what you see, please join us. Below are the awards given at the Opening Reception for the 2011 Annual Exhibition at Gallery Nord, 2009 NW Military. Gallery Nord hours are from noon to 5:00 Wednesday through Saturday. There is no charge to visit the gallery. All art work is for sale. The current exhibition includes a variety of art works by 16 Women. It is very good.

*Surface Design Award recognizes a piece of fiber art characterized by the use of design elements to produce an outstanding work of art. The juror said in the light, the golden figures glowed and the white underlay was almost translucent and seemed to be floating. It does not show the full effect against the wall.

**Warrior Award is given by an individual fiber artist who wishes to remain anonymous. The impetus for the award is to recognize an art work that is representative of an archetype. The Warrior Artist archetype forges ahead into new territory often bringing with it fear that our imagination will fail us. This new territory can however, bring freedom to play which allows our intuition to dance.
