Say Si Opportunity

Small Scale Work for a LARGER CAUSE 2012

Artist Information Sheet

Mission: Established in 1994, SAY Sí is a national award-winning, year round, long-term, multidisciplinary arts program for students from San Antonio’s high schools and middle schools that provides opportunities for these students to develop artistic and social skills in preparation for higher educational advancement and professional careers.  SAY Sí is committed to creating a premier, dynamic and nurturing environment for artistic youth. SAY Sí recognizes that the arts reshape how young people learn, communicate and prepare for their work and civic future.

Event History:
Now in its 15th year, Small Scale, initiated by local artists began as a way to help raise funds for our tuition-free programs. The first event included 26 artists, today over 200 local, regional and national artists participate. The theme and idea from the original event also continues: artists are asked to contribute a small artwork, and patrons silent-bid on the work. Today, Small Scale continues to be our largest singe fund-raiser and all monies raised go to student programming.

Artwork is accepted in any medium, we only ask that in keeping with the theme of the show that you submit work in a “small-scale” ready-to-hang format.

Work need not be made special for this event, but should best represent the artist and be of the highest quality, as it will be shown along side other highly established artists and artwork.
